Thinking About Other People!

We’re interested in children’s theories of how other people’s minds work, and how this relates to how children reason about teachers. This study has two parts. In the first part, your child will play 5 mini-games. In each game, your child will learn about a new person: what they like, want or believe. Then we will ask your child to predict how that person will act, feel, or think. For example, your child might learn that a person really likes trucks but not blocks, and then we will ask your child to tell us which toy that person will play with next. In the second part, your child will watch four short videos of four different teachers teaching students about different things. (For example: the names of their toys.) Then, your child will answer some questions to help us figure out what they thought about the teachers. (For example: "Which teacher would you want to learn from?").
